Transform Your Resources And Your Life

Transform your resources and your life!

Have you ever scrolled through Pinterest or Instagram and drooled over all of the beautiful teacher resources? Do you ever think to yourself that you could easily sell the things you make for your classroom if only you knew where to begin? I am here to tell you that there are reasonable steps to take to get your teaching resource business off the ground!  I learned these achievable steps from Kayse Morris through her course, Transform Your Resources.

Who is Kayse?

I’m going to take you back to July 2016 in Orlando, Florida at the 3rd Annual Teachers Pay Teachers Conference. I attended a session about using video to help grow your brand. The speaker: Kayse Morris from Teaching on Less.

In this session, I learned a few tips that completely changed how I marketed my resources. In that session, she challenged all of us to “Go Live” on our Facebook pages. Being in her presence for 10 minutes and she was already pushing me to do things out of my comfort zone that benefits my career as a teacherpreneur. I left Kayse’s session completely inspired. I stalked her blog, youtube channel, and Instagram. My intention was to learn as much as a could from this contagious genuine spirit. She taught me numerous things: product picture lighting, makeup tips, and to turn the camera around and be myself.

I continued to follow Kayse and her journey in and out of the classroom. There were a few times where I reached out to Kayse with questions regarding my resources and to my surprise, she would always respond extremely quickly. I often thought, “Wow, I’m so glad she is responding, but why is she responding to some small TPT seller in South Louisiana?”

Fast forward to July 2017 in Anaheim, California at the 4th Annual Teachers Pay Teachers Conference. I was 6 months pregnant and exhausted. My husband dropped me off at the conference after my midday nap at our hotel because I HAD to attend Kayse’s session again. I arrived early to see Kayse mingling among the room, shaking hands, introducing herself, and getting to know as many attendees as the time allotted. She even spoke to me and remember me from our brief conversations online. I then received the answer to my question above. Kayse responds to other fellow teacherpreneurs because she truly cares. Throughout her course, she often says “There is room for everyone at the top.” Kayse exhibits a genuine attentiveness to all of her students in her course. It is evident she wants to help as many teacherpreneurs as possible achieve their dreams.

What is transform your resources?

Transform your resources is a course that is designed to push you towards achieving dreams you never thought was possible. Within the first week of this course, I was asking myself “Why not me? Why can’t I achieve my biggest possible dreams?” I was looking at my current resources in a new way, improving them, and creating new ones. My husband and I began to really focus in on what our dream and goals were. We wrote them down and made a plan on how to achieve them. With this new focus on where I wanted my business to go, I began implementing the newly learned content and began to see immediate growth in my business.

My sudden spark of energy and drive to update existing resources in my store along with creating new ones was unstoppable. Staying up late and getting up early was what I WANTED to do. Before this course, I uploaded products as quickly as possible in hopes of sales. Kayse taught me tips and tricks to upload and update products efficiently and effectively. No longer was I creating what I thought was going to make money, I knew exactly how to market my products and push them to my audience productively.

Why join this course?

When Kayse announced this course I KNEW I had to sign up. After admiring the marketing of her business and the growth of her brand, I knew I need to be a part of her initial course cohort. After all, in my opinion, Kayse is the Joanna Gaines of the Teacher Resource World. Come on, have you seen her work? Just as Joanna has become the go-to person in regards to the Modern Farmhouse Style, I think of Kayse as the go-to person for being consistent and original in her brand. I needed to learn everything I could.

One thing I desperately needed help with in regards to my business was my blog. I had no idea where to even begin. In the past, blogging was something I did easily but it was not done well. The things I learned about blogging from this course was my missing piece in my business. The graph above shows that the things learned from this course are the real deal. The numbers do not lie. Traffic to my blog posts increased substantially. Pinterest pins were created from my blog posts by readers who enjoyed what I was writing! This was what I hoped for all along! Making money by doing something I love, changed my life.

Where did I find the time?

Let’s keep it real. Working a full-time teaching job, being a mom to a 1-year-old,  and a wife I had NO idea when I was going to find the time to complete this course. That did not stop me from signing up. I knew Kayse from her videos and Instagram stories. I knew she had a way of encouraging me to find time to work on my business and my products. Her contagious work ethic lit a fire in me even when I felt like I was running on empty. I trusted that her energy would be the same if not greater in this course.

After the first Facebook live in our Course cohort group, I was hooked. At night, my iPad would be set up next to my tub so I could watch videos from the course modules. Then, the remainder of my night was spent in my office tackling my to-do list. Kayse suggested that you stare your goals in the face daily as a reminder of why you are working so hard. My husband and I wrote out our 2 major goals down for the year. This goal is displayed around our house currently and since this moment, we are well on our way to achieving these goals. The best is yet to come!
